I always got the impression that when she's fucking with us, we'll know it's her.

Not only that, but...I'm almost positive she's at least partly responsible for blowing the mountain up. I dunno how good a view you had from Bavan, but the whole thing was covered in fog right before it blew. Which makes sense, if she wasn't the one responsible for those holes. It was only a matter of time before she struck down the one who was responsible for messing with her "toys".

So looking at it that way...if the runes did come from her, and they were a curse, they'd only affect the people who went in the holes, don't you think? As some kind of punishment or...branding. But clearly the holes have nothing to do with it, if both Nanami and Tanaka were affected, and Hinata and I were unaffected.

Either way though, I think trying to figure it all out right this second is pointless. We don't have any evidence, it's all just conjecture at this point. I mean, shit, we don't even know what sort of effect these marks even have yet. For all you know, they could be a blessing instead of a curse.

[But this is Gundam we're talking about, so of course he jumped to curses first...]

No matter who or what caused these markings, or for what reason, it is still doubtful they were a blessing. To have these burned or stitched into flesh...if they were made with benevolence, it should not have been in such manners.

[He'll give you that maybe they aren't curses. But they are definitely not blessings.]

[Ugh a rebuttal! But Hajime just listens to Fuyuhiko, nodding along when appropriate. It makes sense, and he's not afraid to accept when he might be wrong about something.]

Well, these marks appeared after what happened to the mountain, right? If anything, I'd assume it would be her, since the fog appeared around the mountain itself. Like a reminder that these people are hers... or something. Tanaka's got a point about it hurting probably meaning it's a curse, but...

But you're right, it's impossible to tell right now. Like you said, it could be that the rest of us could end up with these "runes" or whatever, given more time. But if it's pointless to try to think about this right now... what do you want to do, Kuzuryuu?

I kinda want to go see if all the weird marks that were on the rocks around the mountain are still here or not. See if maybe it's connected. But...more than that I just want to try and sleep till the sun comes up. I'm fucking exhausted.

[The faerie isn't the only one exhausted from the night's events. He's been ready to pass the fuck out again since he woke up when the two of them arrived.]

[Hajime's still fairly awake thanks to frantically checking on everyone he knows, but he can't deny that getting the chance to just sit down and not do much of anything is pretty appealing. He just lets out a bit of a sigh and gets up to make sure all the bandages and gauze is put away well enough that they won't blow away in the middle of the night.]

I should have brought more blankets, though, if I'd been thinking about it. It's pretty cold out here, still.

[Not as bad as when he'd first arrived here and, considering there's considerably less elevation now than there was, won't be quite that bad ever again, it's still pretty chilly. He'll just take a seat close to Gundam and give his uninjured shoulder a bit of a pat.] We'll get you to a doctor or something first thing in the morning.

Ha, you say that like he'll stay conscious long enough to manage that. Fucker basically hibernates half the day away after he changes back.

An attempt will be made to last that long, but if we must visit a clinic after I return to consciousness, that will be acceptable as well. And...

[When Hajime sits down, Fuyuhiko finally leaves his head, flying instead to Gundam's head and disappearing inside the bear's scarf. Scarf, sweet bed.]

[The reason why Fuyuhiko doesn't need barriers is probably a subject that shouldn't be touched on. At least if you're asking Gundam. The explanation would probably be long and involved and confusing.

But he murrs a little in response, not a full answer but before he can speak he feels a certain faerie looking for a scarf to sleep in. Gonna hold his breath for a second so he doesn't accidentally blow him away or shift and knock him off balance while he's trying to get comfortable. Okay...you good little guy? Yeah you seem to be.]

[After some very successful kitten petting and reptilian lecturing and customer assisting, and Fuyuhiko finally returning to his proper height, Gundam decided it was about time he brought home some new companions. Not hamsters, like you might think, but snakes. A pair of cornsnakes, to be exact, one white and one black. He spent his entire afternoon of shopping after work with them hanging out in his scarf, getting used to him and how things worked, and then picked up their tank and supplies on the way home. It just made more sense, instead of lugging the tank around everywhere.

Of course, with a big tank in his arms (full of both the aforementioned supplies as well as some of the groceries), he can't really open the door to their motel on his own. So there's a knock knock knocking alerting his roommate that he's home!

Or well, more like a thud thud thudding as he had to kind of tap the door with his foot. Those snakes have their heads out of the scarf, glancing around with interest.]

[Well that's weird. How many fucking groceries did Gundam get that he can't open the door on his own? Fuyuhiko turns off the tv and slides out of bed, moving over to the door and pulling it open only to find himself face to face with an empty...tank? This just gets weirder and weirder...]

[His first thought is fish. But then he catches sight of the heads poking out of Gundam's scarf. Oh hell no...what he thinks is happening had better not be happening. He blocks the doorway so Gundam can't get in the room yet.]

...please tell me the pet store does deliveries now and you're just dropping off the groceries before taking those snakes to somebody else.

While that may seem like an intelligent idea, a delivery system for creatures is would be a poor decision. No, these new companions are ours.

[He's got bags of groceries on his arms too, come on let him in so he can set all this down??

[Why did he give Gundam the benefit of the doubt for even 10 seconds? Of course this is exactly what he feared. Fuyuhiko sighs exasperatedly, pinching the brdige of his nose as he moves out of the way of the door to let Gundam in. Get inside so he can yell at you properly, you dumbass.]

[Walking inside, he moves to set the tank down on the table for now, the bags of groceries following suit.]

That is hardly an issue. This is the reason I chose beasts who cannot ruin the carpet, furniture or walls.

[Fuyuhiko closes the door once they're both inside, still fixing Gundam with an irritated look despite his classmate's nonchalance.]

It is truly not an issue. No damage will be done to the room, they are not vocal creatures so they will never alert anyone to their presence, small reptiles and fish are very good beasts for motel living.

[He did not ask the owner, but there's no way the owner will notice unless he walks inside the room. It'll be fine Fuyuhiko, don't worry.]

That's not what I'm asking, dumbass. Did you say anything to the owner before you decided to do this? They may not make noise, but there's no way housekeeping's not gonna notice a tank full of snakes when they come in here. And how do you think that's gonna go over?

More strict and dangerous circumstances have faced me many times before, and never have I been caught with my companions. It was not just within that virtual reality I had my Devas on my person concerning our academy. I fully intended to bring them to Hope's Peak with me, plenty of practice hiding creatures from figures of authority before under my belt. Classes, libraries, supermarkets...housekeeping will be no problem.

[Okay that gets him to pause for a moment, setting down a box he'd been about to put away and kind of looking at Fuyuhiko like he's a big pink elephant or something. It seems like the idea of asking before hand never actually crossed his mind.

...I stand by the fact that it won't cause any hassle. If I really must have a word with the owner concerning this then fine, that's what I'll do. But...

[He really never considered the fact that the heir might not be okay with him owning animals.]

No. I mean...I knew you'd keep pets eventually. That much is kind of a given, all things considered. [Super High School Level Animal Breeder and all.] I just figured "eventually" would be after we'd found someplace with a little more space. And I wasn't expecting snakes.

[Not that he's scared of them or anything just...he was expecting hamsters and this is like the exact opposite of a hamster.]

It just would've been nice to have a little warning beforehand.
