Well luckily, towers don't grow so it can be as tall as you fucking want it to be. I don't see how flying in or out of a tower is all that intimidating, really, but to each his own, I guess.

How can you not envision such a thing? Knowing that a powerful demon inhabits a castle alone often fills humans with fear! Imagine approaching such a monument! Dread pooling in the pit of your stomach as you encroach upon the castle gates, the darkness of twilight surrounding you, threatening to drown the light held in your trembling hands. You open the gate, cringing as it groans and squeals in opposition of such an action, eyes darting to skies as if expecting the hellion you are hunting to have overheard the complaints of the iron hinges and is now bearing down on you from the skies, and yet you see nothing.

That is until your foot steps hit the cobblestone of the courtyard, at which point you hear a villainous cackle ring through the air. Terror squeezes your very heart as you look up, eyes drawing towards the top of the main keep of the castle, the tallest tower looming high above you, and see a pair of impossibly large wings that surely belong to the hellish bastard you fear launch from the roost! That clawing, gnawing fear crawling up one's spine, scraping against the inside of their ribs, robbing them of their ability to breathe or think or even scream...it is an important atmosphere to obtain for a demon overlord!

Though...I suppose if you feared such things, your caliber would not be so lofty above the peasants around us.

...that would be implying we'd leave the gates unlocked so humans can just wander in whenever they damn well please.

Well of course we wouldn't leave them open here. It was a general description. Staying outside the gates would garner the same reaction, especially considering humans are regularly on the menu here.

Truly, a demon descending upon them from above is far more terrifying here. It's a matter of life or death, rather than ascension or damnation.

Okay and...swooping over a wall off of a five or six story tower isn't menacing enough for you or something? How tall was this [He points to the tower in Gundam's drawing.] supposed to be?

[Five or six stories...that suggestion actually has him rubbing at his chin in thought, obviously imagining something like that and trying to judge the effectiveness of it.]

Six is as high as I'm willing to go. I dunno if I'm going to turn into something with wings and I don't want to climb a whole assload of stairs just to come talk to you.

And I'm sure Nanami and Hinata would say the same. [Since they definitely cannot fly. Well...Hinata can levitate, but still. Think of poor, sleepy Nanami having to climb all those stairs.]

...that could work. A Japanese style castle could work, even only at five or six stories. Okay, but there are other details they need to hash out if they're going to do this.]

We will require a courtyard, with room enough that the magical beasts I will be keeping may roam freely.

[The way he says this is less demanding, and more half-questioning. He has never been inside a castle's walls...do they typically have those? Mister Lives-in-Osaka? Is that a possibility?]

Yeah, a courtyard goes without saying. Though...just how many animals are you planning on keeping, exactly?

[He doesn't want a zoo! But...he's quiet for a few beats before averting his gaze.]

I have no set number in mind. As far as creatures that need space are concerned, a dog, a few cats...in general though, I would like to keep more than just a few. I'd...like to start breeding again. A castle would provide adequate space for that, while still providing you and anyone else with plenty of living space apart from my activities as well, right?

[One of a few reasons he went for a castle rather than something smaller presents itself!]

[He's not really surprised to hear Gundam wants to start breeding animals again. That's his talent, after all. And when you have as much talent as a super high school level does, it's hard to resist using it. He knows the feeling well.]

That's not why I was asking, I mean...you don't have to separate yourself if you don't want to. I was just curious, is all. [And a zoo would be a little excessive!!]

A dog would be nice though. [He likes dogs. Cats are okay, he guesses.] Let me know when you go to pick one out, I'll come with you.

[It's really hard, and Gundam is weak in that regard. His love for animals greatly outweighs his ability to resist...his life is not nearly as full of baby animals as he'd like it to be.

Just curious though? Huh...that's strange to him. A question like that is the kind of important question you ask when you're wary of where things are going...and he'd have expected Fuyuhiko to be someone more against having more than a few animals.

Not that he's complaining about his apparent acceptance.]

[Well he was wary! He was very wary Gundam might be planning a zoo under the guise of a castle. But since he's not, there's no reason to be worried anymore. His family kept a decent amount of dogs, it's not like he's super opposed to the idea of multiple animals. So long as they can afford to feed them, it'll be fine.]

[Good job though, Gundam, that confused tone has activated his tsun defense.]

[Well luckily Gundam would never take on more animals than he could afford to care for.]

No, that's not it...you surprised me, is all. I would very much enjoy having your company for that.

Well...alright then. But...before we even think about that, we need to actually get this castle. [He hands Gundam his sketchbook back.] Which means deciding what we want it to look like. Because if what Hijikata said is true, we need to be as specific as possible with our request. That should lower our chances of something going wrong.

[Taking the sketchbook, he nods. That's very true...the last thing they want is to deal with any serious or detrimental "surprises" that Tikbalang could give them...]
