well we're going to the movies later but they want to go on a spa date first. which seems weird and awkward. does the spa even count as a date?

why wouldn't it? couples massages and shit like that are a thing, aren't they?
but even if they weren't, a date is just two people with feelings for each other going out and doing something enjoyable together. so why not a spa, if that's what you're into?

and if you were already friends before, chances are there's gonna be a lot of overlap between dates and shit you'd do as friends.
so if she thinks it's a date and you think it's a date, then it's a date.
