<NineHeaded>
We've got shit in the motel room, don't worry about buying anything. [Especially not children. Hajime, please.] I'll just get the door unlocked while I'm waiting for you.
[Seriously, Hajime, they have this stuff stockpiled. The good shit, even, don't waste your money on lame convenience store medical kits.]
[But that's the last message he sends before turning his attention away from the computer and to Gundam instead.]
This shouldn't take long so try and take it easy, alright?
no subject
Be safe.
[Who knows what else is going to happen now...that earthquake and the rocks raining from the sky were so sudden, after all...]
no subject
[He is always the most careful, what are you talking about? But with that said, he flits over to his faerie ring, disappearing in a flash of pale gold. This is really the one and only thing he's going to miss about being a faerie. It's so nice to be able to travel instantly like this.]
[Which of course means, he'll probably beat Hinata to the motel since the nerd is swinging by the convenience store. But he'll wait as patiently as he can, sitting on the doorknob of he and Gundam's room and kicking his long, spindly legs idly over the edge.]
no subject
Still, Fuyuhiko easily beats him there, considering Hajime can still only just walk to get anywhere. There's visible relief on his face at the sight of the other on the doorknob, and he just gives a small wave in greeting as he moves a little more quickly.]
Hey. It's good to see you. You said you've got stuff in the room, right? I'll carry it.
[Because one of the two of them is Not Smol.]
no subject
Yeah, we've been stocking up ever since Tanaka's changes started. His magic weakness kinda caught him with his pants down and we're trying to avoid being stuck in that situation again. [Which has mostly worked. When his wings came in, they had plenty of stuff to treat it! The room, however...] You're probably gonna want to do the same if you haven't already started.
[Once Hajime takes the key, Fuyuhiko will move off the doorknob and flit inside the tiny, cramped room and towards the bathroom. Because where else would you keep your drugs? They've got a variety of painkillers on the vanity, and more gauze, bandages, and antiseptic than are strictly necessary in the drawers. Grab whatever, Hinata.]
no subject
That's a good idea, I don't think I'd have thought of that.
[He's too ordinary for that kind of planning ahead, the most he might think to get for himself might be bandaids. But how much is Gundam hurt? He's a massive bear, so Hajime just looks for the strongest painkillers and biggest bottle of antiseptic they have, tossing it and some gauze and rolls of bandage into his laptop's messenger bag.]
But I mean... I've had some stuff happen already, and none of it's hurt so far. Once we get Tanaka taken care of, I can show you.
no subject
[Once he's gathered everything up though, Fuyuhiko flits up and settles himself on Hajime's shoulder. Keeping your wings beating constantly is really tiring, okay? Especially in the wake of a mountain exploding and having to fly around dodging rocks and debris. He is pooped!]
Eh, we didn't either. Like I said, it took Tanaka getting a huge gash in his arm for either of us to consider it. Maybe if Tsumiki were here...
[She'd probably think of it right away. Or just have stuff like this stockpiled in general. Maybe he shouldn't have brought her up though... He shakes his head.]
Anyway, let's head back. Better to tell us both at once anyway, 'cause I'm sure he'll be curious about what's happened to you.
[Because he's a nerd...]
no subject
[He can't really say more than that to the mention of Mikan; if she were here, in this kind of situation...? He's not sure what they would do, honestly. Especially if she remembered the truth about who they all are... this isn't contained like the island. And there's a bit of guilt to his quiet agreement, too; she and the others are back there, without them. It's almost too easy to forget that.]
But yeah, let's head back.
[Hajime just gives him a nod, not really objecting to the other perching on his shoulder like that. Honestly he doesn't weight enough for a noticeable difference, so as long as he doesn't do anything really annoying like flap his wings right in Hajime's ear, he's fine with this arrangement. One final case around the motel room to check for anything he might have missed, then he's locking the door behind them both to head to the ring itself.
Let's change the subject, shall we? Island stuff can come at another time.]
So, uh... how are you feeling, by the way? Anything else weird from being near the mountain? Or... what's left of it, I guess?
no subject
[Which was mildly terrifying, to say the least. He's lucky he had his antennae to help him navigate. They at least made it easy to avoid things.]
And Tanaka's got these...well, you'll see them when we get there. Just have a look at the back of his...uh. Paws. [It feels kind of weird to describe his hands as such but...]
[It's better to ask these questions when Gundam is around too. That way Hajime doesn't have to ask the same questions twice. Luckily, his ring is not far from their room, just along the outside edge of the building proper. Once Hajime steps inside it, there's another flash of pale gold and the two boys are back at the edge of Lake Fors, facing the now-destroyed peak.]
[What are you doing, Gundam, did you behave yourself and take it easy like Fuyuhiko asked?]
no subject
Yeah no okay "dozing off" is a lie. He's snoozing away there.
If Hajime wants to know what Fuyuhiko was talking about and chance a glance at those paws sitting in his lap. On the back of each paw is a large odd symbol, fur missing as if it was burned off...]
no subject
Hey, Tanaka...
[Wake up, dude. Hajime just glances quickly toward Fuyuhiko before taking a few steps forward and lowering his bag to the ground to start digging for the medical supplies. Like hell is he going to just start administering disinfectant to a giant bear without waking him up first-! He is going to glance quickly back toward Fuyuhiko at the sight of the weird symbols, more than a little alarmed.]
What happened...? That didn't happen to you, right?
no subject
No, it didn't happen to me. Not yet, anyway, I mean I guess it's possible it's not something that affects everyone at once. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened... [Not that he's bitter or anything.]
no subject
That wasn't much of a nap and he kind of wants to sleep a little longer, but Fuyuhiko and Hajime are back...so he'll just stare at them instead. That's much better than going back to sleep.]
no subject
[Does he sound sarcastic? Of course not, who would sound sarcastic in this kind of situation? Especially when all he can really do is just shake his head in response to the sight of the former-peak. He can only be glad that more people weren't involved in it, since nobody he'd laptoped earlier had been seriously injured.]
But hey, this is probably going to hurt, Tanaka.
[Because what else is he supposed to do with that nasty-looking shoulder gash other than pour some disinfectant onto one of the gauze pads and start dabbing at it, trying to do his best to make sure there's no dirt or anything in the wound. Hajime's never been SHSL Nurse, but he does have enough common sense to try to help.]
no subject
[He relocates up to the top of Hajime's head, not wanting to get in the way as he cleans Gundam's wound out. He's just gonna lay down up here, alright? Yeah. Comfy.]
no subject
Though thankfully it's not with a jolt or a bite or anything. By now Gundam has become a very good patient. Even though it does indeed hurt, the most he's doing is tensing. There's a quiet sound here and there when Hajime is paying attention to deeper parts of the shoulder wound, but nothing more than a grunt or whine.
Ugh he's really sick of getting hurt. This sucks.]
...welcome back.
[Oh hey there we go. Awake enough to talk!]
no subject
[He heard that sound of pain, though there's not much he can do about it (yet) other than just wince in sympathy and keep trucking on to clean out that wound. At least Gundam's awake now, which makes this slightly less hazardous to Hajime's health? A bonus.
But that "welcome back" is obviously not addressed to him, so he stays quiet as he keeps working, pressing clean gauze against the wound as soon as he's sure it's clear of dirt.]
no subject
[At least Gundam listened and actually took it easy though, so he can't really complain.]
no subject
And now he has to sit here and let you guys put disinfectant in his wounds and shit like cut him some slack you little assface.]
no subject
But moving on and looking for any other scrapes or gashing that might need tending to!]
So Kuzuryuu said you twisted your ankle, too, right? I'm not sure what we can do about that... maybe a splint or something?
[Just kind of... glances straight up toward his hairline as if maybe he'd be able to see Fuyuhiko (he can't).] What do you think?
no subject
[Hinata can just...prop him up and walk him back to the circle after he changes. Yeah, that'll work. And then Gundam can just lay down and take it easy the rest of the day.]
no subject
After the discussion of his ankle he snorts.]
It's nothing to worry about...a splint would be too much work for something so minuscule out here.
no subject
[No split needed! But time for Hajime to get up and move to the scrapes on his back to start the process over again. At least these don't seem to be as bad, and though neither of the boys can see his face from this position, he gives Gundam a somewhat impatient look.]
You know you don't have to pretend it doesn't hurt, right?
[Just going to kind of run his fingers through Gundam's fur in a kind of pet to make sure it's out of the way of one of the scrapes... don't be a dumb burr, he's had enough of that.]
Anyway, I'm glad it's not worse. I mean, with how big you are, it's pretty lucky you didn't get crushed by any of the rocks...
flipping order rq!!!!!!!!!!
He's not pretending! He's fine!!]
Where my good fortune lies is in the fact that Kuzuryuu was present. As it turns out, faeries are capable of transforming others into insects, and he discovered this ability during that hellfire rain. Transported me to safety after that...
[He's really grateful man. He'd be in much worse shape otherwise, or possibly dead. Can you imagine what getting hit in the head could have done to him?
He adds, a little more quietly:]
...I am also fortunate that you were willing to arrive here and tend to these wounds.
[Sorry he was rude earlier.]
Thank you both.
no subject
Tch...I got lucky. You probably could've made it out unscathed if I'd known how to do that from the start...
[Or at least he could have done it on purpose instead of in a fit of panic over having to be protected again. It was a little traumatizing, having Gundam shield him from the rocks the way he had. A little too similar to Peko's execution for Fuyuhiko's taste...]
...but you're welcome. [It's mumbled into Hajime's hair, but he knows full well by now that Gundam's ears can pick almost anything up.]
