Well yeah, that goes without saying. Of course it's ultimately to win. I dunno, I think it's just more satisfying if there's at least SOME challenge in getting there.

Sort of, yeah. I mean...that's part of it, but not all of it. In this case almost everyone does it anyway, so I guess it's more like...wanting to avoid something anticlimactic. You know, if you see a goddamn dragon's head, you don't expect to see it followed by a snake's tail.

Success doesn't have much meaning if you don't have to struggle to get there. Or, in this case, if the struggle falls flat at the finish line. You get what I mean?

...No. You're basically saying if you worked really hard to get somewhere, then it better still be hard once you get there. But that's dumb, because why would you want something to be harder than it needs to be? You worked hard all that time so that once you got there, you'd be able to do it at all. Why would you complain about it being easier than you were expecting?

I mean, if what you actually cared about was winning, then you wouldn't care whether you won easy or hard, so long as you won. If you're mad about how easy or hard it was, then it sounds like you care about proving you're better than someone else or something, and that's why it has to be hard. Because nobody cares if you beat someone who isn't hard to beat. Right?
