When it comes to gym battles...which is more your style? Getting the damn thing over with as fast as possible by exploiting their weakness? Or drawing it out by not taking advantage of their typing handicap?
[Kuzuryuu, your team is hardly the pinnacle of typing diversity you really don't have much room to talk about type handicaps here. You beat Chuck because you were over-leveled, let's not kid ourselves here.]
...This isn't meant to be some deep analytical bullshit of your character or anything like that. I just got my Storm badge and that got me thinking. [...] It...seemed like a good conversation starter.
[He...tried? God, is he ever making an attempt at socializing. It's just not a very good one. Especially with this long pause he seems to have gotten himself stuck in now. Did he forget what he was going to say? No, he just kind of got off-script from how he'd initially planned this post to go and now he's not sure how to end it.]
Look, just... oh what the hell, fuck it. [He sighs in frustration, snapping back to his usual, irritable self. He was trying not to be obvious about the contest thing but FUCK IT.] The name's Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu. That's western order but let's keep it to family names, yeah? [Do not be fooled by the question mark at the end of that sentence. It is not a question; it's a statement, and his tone makes that abundantly clear. You are not on the (very short) list of people who are allowed to call him Fuyuhiko.] If we've never talked before, let's do it now. It doesn't even have to be about what I said before. The topic doesn't matter; I don't fucking care what it is, as long as it's not something stupid. Don't waste my goddamn time.
[WELL THAT SURE WENT DOWNHILL FASTER THAN A ROLLER SKATER ON CYCLING ROAD. People will be absolutely lining up to talk to you, Kuzuryuu. Well done. You will most assuredly beat Nanami now.]

[The cute guy with the bad attitude. Hey there.]
Are you really that desperate for people to talk to? That's kinda surprising.
[Tenten. Honey. No. This is not the kind of person you want to tease.]

[She's testing it, man that's a mouthful. His family sure might be a thing to carry a name like that, but no judging.
As if anybody wearing a goddamned pink kimono should be allowed to judge.]Unfortunately, I don't have a family name, you can just call me Botan.
[Ah, he wanted topics, all right then.]
What's your favorite type of Pokemon?
[um, still not using gently caress, worst kuzuryuu]
[drops immediately tbh]

[ Unfortunately, you've already talked to Roxy. She won't be totally surprised if he just flips her off in response. Kuzu's a better than calling him Fuyuhiko, though, right? ]

This kid is interesting so that means he immediately has to poke at him.
Greed would probably look tougher right now if he hadn't spent the past two days in the rain. His hair is a complete mess even if it has dried out by now.]
Name's Greed.
I'll be honest, I don't give a flying fuck about challenging the gyms right now.
[Greed...]
I'm not the greatest at smalltalk but I suppose we could talk about the ridiculousness of a culture that lets ten year old children wander off in the middle of the woods for days at a time without concern.

[But more importantly...]
For a guy asking to talk with people, you don't really look like you want to, though.

Sounds like somebody's bored outta their mind, huh?
Name's Cu Chulainn--call me Lancer if you like, don't bother with family names or whatever.

You're not so good at this whole conversation thing, are you?
But as far as gyms, where's the fun if it's over too quickly? Drawing it out is more entertaining.

I found it easier to use a type advantage. The problem is trying to find the right pokemon for the job, though.
[ Oh, right, name! He has to give this guy a hand though for trying to be more sociable. Maybe it's something he can take a lesson from. ]
I'm Yukio Okumura, by the way. Just recently started going after badges myself.

video | I hope you don't mind late tags
I haven't done any gym battles yet, but I think I'd try to take them down using their weaknesses. Of course it really depends on the fight... I might just improvise in the end.
video | i do not! i've been really slow myself lately so it's no prob
