Peko's always seen herself as nothing more than a tool for me. As far as she was concerned, her life didn't matter compared to mine.

[See here's his garbage socializing at work. He can only maintain small talk for so long before the conversation nearly always turns to something depressing. Even when he specifically goes into a conversation wanting to keep it light. Like right now.]

Well I guess I can't argue with that really, but you shouldn't just completely ignore it you know. That is a very important experience to have!
You're lucky though, since it's something you can experience at any age. So even if you wait until you're an old fart, you can still look for love. That's the best part about it! It's ageless.

Ciel is right! And see...I've always operated on the principles that if you really want someone, you just go for it! Don't hold back! Because it's better to be honest and truthful, no matter what. But...I really, really like him. And normally that's not an issue, but he's engaged...so now I'm not sure what to do. I haven't told him how I feel yet, he just explained that while I was trying to get him to dance at the ball. But now I'm not sure if I should. But at the same time, I still really like him!
[She's resting her chin on the table now, fingers just gripping the edge for now. This has been bothering her since the ball.]

I'm just going to assume the answer to that is yes, he's from some time period where that sort of thing was normal. That said, my advice to you is this: don't.
