Oi! [and he's calling out to him when he comes walking up to the food stop, waving a hand in greeting.]

...this might sound kind of boring, but I could really go for a sandwich right now. [Shhhhhh.]

[Because clearly Hinata knows where to go to get the best sandwich. Or at least, that's what he seems to be assuming. So he'll follow wherever Hinata leads, order something simple, and wait.]

[Oi, don't agree, but the mental complaint, with its exasperation, comes with a side dish of amusement. He does actually take Kuzuryuu to a nice sandwich place; a cafe, not too crowded this time of day.

Once they're all set with sandwiches and otherwise, he slips into a seat with a light sigh.]

Feels like a while since we got to relax for a minute. [Even if the tours only took place over a few hours, there was everything that came after.]

You can say that again. [He sinks into the seat across from Hinata.] Hard to believe it's only been a week. Feels like it's been at least twice that thanks to all this tour shit.

Or even a month... [Hinata sighs and moves to turn his attention to the sandwich, lifting it up and biting from it. After he's swallowed:] We can't expect it to end yet, either.

Ah, sorry, I meant to not talk about that today. [Guess what's on his mind it's not murder it's eye stuff.]

[Kuzuryuu unwraps his own sandwich, waving a hand dismissively.]

[There just doesn't seem to be much point in rehashing the same points over and over again without new info to add to them. He takes a bite of sandwich, chewing it thoughtfully for a moment before asking:]

So how're things going at the school? What do you teach over there, anyway?

[In both his conversations with Peko and Trucy about the subject of Hinata's job in the colony, somehow that detail never came up... He's kind of curious. And it's not like they have anything super important to talk about right now or anything.]

[There's a subtle brightening up in Hinata's face... oh, it seems like he enjoys the teaching gig.]

Mostly social stuff. Like-- cultures, what makes them, the differences in how people think. And, well, different worlds too.

I sub in occasionally for other subjects, too.

[IT'S NOT HARD putting aside the Hope's Peak-made genius thing aside, there's a lot he already knew from high school. Because he studied. A lot...]

[Kuzuryuu grins a little in spite of himself as well. Managing to pick a topic that doesn't upset the other party in some way or another or turn the conversation way too serious is always a relief.]

[Plus, it's nice to see that the people he cares about are happy.]

...I hope he'll be okay with me. I don't know if parent-teacher nights are a thing here with the people around, but.

You ever met the guy? I work with him, and he's pretty laid back. I'd be stunned if he wasn't okay with you. Doubt you'll have to worry either way though, doesn't seem like parent-child pairs are too common here.

[If parent-teacher night was a thing, it'd be really short...one whole meeting. Wow.]

Oh uh...back in December. We were both at the arcade, waiting for someone to get out of work. [Phoenix and Peko, respectively.] So we played a round to pass the time.
